Course Objectives

The course aims to give students an historical, legal and medothological formation on cultural heritage. The course traces the evolution of law concerning the protection of historical-artistic patrimony laws from pre-unification Italian States (with particular attention to the “Kingdom of the two Sicilies”) up to the present with analysis of the code of the cultural heritage and landscape.

Traditional: lessons and seminars.

Assessment Methods

1. Number of tests that contribute to the final evaluation: one.
2. Goals of the test: to verify the student’s awareness and competences. In particular the test aims at verifying the student’s ability to apply acquired knowledge to real cases, his/hers judgment autonomy and communication skills including mastery of the legal language required by the subject.
3. Testing method: oral examination.
4. Exam timing: the exam will take place after the end of the course, according to the exams schedule adopted by the Department.
5. Duration: on average 15/20 minutes, apart from withdrawal cases.
6. Examination type: interview.
7. Final Examination evaluation: the final evaluation will evaluate the overall training objectives; importance will also be given, in addition to the acquired knowledge, to both language skills and critical argumentation.

Expected Learning Outcomes:
- Knowledge and understanding: the course will provide the knowledge and understanding of the the subject of cultural heritage.
- Ability to apply knowledge and understanding: the course, also through the examination of practical cases, is aimed to developing reasoning skills to address legal issues. The student must be able to orient himself between the fundamental notions of the discipline.
- Autonomy of judgment: through the study of the subject, the student can improve their ability to understand the case-law on the subject of administrative law. Moreover, it will be able to improve the ability to argue critically with regard to the topics covered by the course and seminars.
- Communication skills: the course aims to learning technical language, also through the active participation of students. Indeed, the ability to learn and the development of communicative skills, whether oral or written, will be stimulated through discussion in classroom and the active participation of the student.
- Learning ability: at the end of the course, students will have to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the institutes discussed at lessons and the ability to communicate the knowledge learned comprehensively and convincingly. They will also have to demonstrate that they have acquired specific knowledge on the multiple.
