Contents

The course contents focus on the fundamental aspects of osteopathy, exploring both theoretical concepts and application models. The different aspects of the human body and its functioning mechanisms are explored in depth, focusing on integrated and holistic approaches to health.

The concept of the body's unity, the principle of self-healing and the relationship between structure and function are introduced, considering how structural dysfunctions can influence general health. The different models of approach to health are covered: biomechanical (focused on the musculoskeletal structure), neurological (examining the role of the nervous system), circulatory/respiratory (highlighting the importance of blood circulation and breathing), and metabolic (focusing on the biochemical processes of the body). The biopsychosocial model, which integrates biological, psychological and social aspects in understanding health, is also examined. Finally, the holistic approach to treatment is addressed, considering the individual as a whole and emphasizing the importance of personalizing treatments based on the patient's medical history, current conditions, and preferences.
