Syllabus

Course Objectives


By the end of the module, students will be able to:

Identify the main herbal plants used in cosmetics.
Describe the functional and cosmetic properties of selected plant species.
Understand the process from raw plant material to cosmetic ingredient.
Evaluate the sustainable use of botanical resources in cosmetics.
Analyze labels and certifications related to natural cosmetics.

Teaching Methods


The course is delivered in blended mode, with 50% in-person and 50% online activities, combining TEL-DE (content delivery) and TEL-DI (interactive learning).
Students will engage in case study analysis, individual and group work, including e-tivities, aimed at applying theoretical knowledge and developing operational and professional skills

Assessment Methods


Student assessment includes:
•Final exam: written exam with 30 multiple choice questions, to be taken during one of the scheduled exam sessions.
The final grade will be assigned according to the following scale:
•18–22/30: basic knowledge with some gaps
•23–25/30: fair understanding with clear exposition
•26–28/30: good mastery of the content
•29–30/30: excellent knowledge with ability to connect and contextualize topics
•30 cum laude: all questions answered correctly
