Course Objectives

The teaching course contributes to the pursuit of the general objective of the course of study to provide a solid basic preparation in business disciplines, in order to ensure mastery of all the issues concerning the functioning of the business system in its different configurations and specifically for:
- identify and assess the economic, financial and monetary conditions of the company.


EXPECTED RESULTS OF LEARNING
According to the professional profile that the course of study aims to train, at the end of the course the student will have to possess the following knowledge and skills:

KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING ABILITY
- distinguishes the economic, financial and monetary dimension of business management
- identifies the economics conditions of the firm
- identifies the economic balance conditions
- distinguishes the different cost configurations
- distinguishes income and capital structures
- distinguishes long-term and variable financial needs of the firm
- identifies the correlations between funding sources and investments (financial structure)
- identifies and distinguishes the components of the corporate cash flow
- distinguishes basic competitive strategies


KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING ABILITY (applied)
- accounts the business management operations
- determines the economic conditions
- determines the economic balance conditions
- represents the structures of income and capital
- determines the operating income and the net working capital
- identifies the links between the income and capital structure
- reclassification of the capital structure with financial criteria
- - determines the effect of leverage (in first approximation)

AUTONOMY OF JUDGMENT
- identifies and interprets the links between the income and capital structure
- evaluates the determinants of the general corporate balance and the interdependencies between the economic, financial and monetary balance
- identifies the effects of the financial leverage effect on company profitability (first approximation)

COMMUNICATIVE / APPLICATION SKILLS
- use the technical-business and managerial terminology related to business management

Teaching Methods

Teaching is structured in 72 hours of classroom lessons divided into theoretical lessons enriched by seminars and exercises aimed at achieving the objectives of the course.

Assessment Methods


The learning evaluation will take place according to the following procedures:
- On-going evaluation test, which represents a part of the overall evaluation (expressed in thirtieths) and is articulated in relation to the training objectives to be evaluated;
- Colloquium, (expressed in thirtieths) and is aimed at evaluating the communication student's ability,
his mastery of the specific technical language of the discipline and clarity of exposition, interpretation and analysis of business management.
For students who do not take the on-going assessment test, the learning assessment consists of a colloquium to be taken in the exam session.

Contents

The course aims to provide theoretical knowledge for the analysis of the business system observed with the use of the main interpretative models developed in doctrine and in practice for the management of companies.
