Course Objectives

Knowledge of the main classes of biotechnological drugs through the study of their structural properties and structure-activity relationships, their preparation, and the mechanism of action. Knowledge of the main analysis methods aimed at identifying the structure and purity of biotechnological drugs.

Course Prerequisites

The student should possess knowledge of pharmaceutical chemistry, biochemistry, organic chemistry, analytical chemistry, and pharmacology to fully understand the development and analysis of biotechnological drugs.

Teaching Methods

The course consists of 24 hours of frontal lessons, and is organized into two modules

Assessment Methods

The learning verification will be carried out through an oral test, aimed at evaluating the achievement of the course objectives. The questions will focus on the description of specific topics of the program, and at least one will concern the module II of the program.

The Medicinal Chemistry of Biotechnological Drugs course focuses on the design, development and analysis of biotechnological drugs. It also includes the study of the mechanisms of action and interactions of pharmacologically active compounds with different biological targets.
