Syllabus

Course Objectives


Students are expected to acquire the grammatical, lexical content and communicative skills appropriate to level B2 as specified in the Council of Europe's Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

Course Prerequisites


Have a solid intermediate level, typically certified by a B1 level. This means being able to understand complex texts on concrete and abstract topics, hold conversations and express an opinion on current issues. ​​​​​​​

Teaching Methods


​​​​​​​In class we will analyze material (textual, audio and audiovisual) in the different variants of the Spanish language, proposing current themes concerning the Hispanic world using the communicative method. Students will have to produce descriptive, narrative and argumentative written and oral discourses.

Assessment Methods


The exam will consist of making a short presentation and participating in a conversation on the topic in which the student will have to express his or her opinion and talk about his or her personal experiences in order to test the oral expression and interaction of the students.
The assessment criteria applied will be as described in the CEFR.
