Syllabus

Course Objectives


Objective
The main objective of the course is to develop language skills (listening and reading comprehension, speaking and writing) ranging from A1 level to B1 level, in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

Course Prerequisites


Previous knowledge, ideally at least at A2 level

Teaching Methods


Methodology: through a predominantly communicative approach, students are guided on their journey towards acquiring linguistic skills (the set of rules and knowledge with a focus on formal correctness) and communicative skills (conveying meaning with a focus on verbal language: phonetics, graphemics, morphosyntax, lexis and textuality; registers; linguistic styles; attention to speaking speed, tone of voice and the use of pauses). Through the use of appropriate and up-to-date teaching materials, including digital versions, we will endeavour to incorporate key aspects of German culture.
