Course Objectives


MAIN TARGETS
Notions of history, institutions and socio-cultural and economic issues relating to Spain and some of the Spanish-speaking countries in order for students to reflect on the peculiar aspects of contemporary Iberian reality. Notions of history, politics, economics and sociology will be provided in order to lead the learner to a full awareness of cultural distances and the building of communicative bridges typically pertaining to the management of international relations.

EXPECTED LEARNING RESULTS
At the end of the course, the student will be able to:
- demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of the cultural and institutional context of the countries covered by the course
- know, argue and explain the historical, cultural and socio-economic framework of the countries covered by the course
- apply the historical and cultural notions learnt to draw comparisons and critically analyse the themes proposed
- express their own opinion on the topics covered in a clear manner.

Course Prerequisites


Knowledge of Spanish language.

Teaching Methods


Frontal lessos.

Assessment Methods


There’s a final oral exam, in order to verify the knowledge of the topics covered (historical, economic and socio-cultural aspects), the acquisition of specialist vocabulary, clarity of presentation and the ability to give a critical reading of the topics covered, drawing comparisons between different cultural realities.
The exam will be taken in Spanish language and the evaluation will be expressed in thirtieths.
