Syllabus

Course Objectives

The aim of the course is to allow the student to acquire the fundamental knowledge related to the main theoretical and applicative aspects of image processing. In particular, the analysis of the images obtained from the main biomedical imaging techniques will be discussed. The student will develop the ability to evaluate the limits and strength of the discussed approaches critically and independently.

Course Prerequisites

Calculus. Matrix algebra, linear algebra.

Teaching Methods

Classroom lessons.

Assessment Methods

The verification of student’s knowledge consists of the development of an analysis pipeline written in Matlab or other software, and an oral examination. The final score is given by the average of the scores of the two exams.
