Assessment Methods

The expected learning outcomes are defined according to the European parameters described by the five Dublin descriptors.
1. Knowledge and understanding: The student's ability to rework what has been studied in order to transform the acquired knowledge into current, broad, and comprehensive reflections that include elements of personal interpretation. This will be achieved through written exercises completed in class and at home to assess the level of acquired knowledge.
2. Applied knowledge and understanding: The student's ability to apply the acquired knowledge practically and in interdisciplinary contexts; the student will apply the knowledge by managing the different dimensions and scales of the project, from architectural to urban and territorial planning. This will be achieved through the end-of-course project to be completed individually or in a group.
3. Independent judgment: The activities that contribute to the development of these skills are the written and practical exercises included in the course. Individual contributions will be encouraged in the development of interpretative summaries, fact sheets, and comparative tables (of standards or case studies analyzed during the course and to be attached to the graphic materials for the exercises) so that students can acquire mastery of technical language and independent critical thinking.
4. Communication skills: Activities will be designed to develop students' ability to communicate/transmit what they have learned. Group reviews and presentations of the exercises completed and the results achieved will be included.
5. Learning skills: The tools provided—through classroom teaching, exercises, midterm tests, and reviews with discussion of the results achieved—will enable students to acquire all the skills and abilities necessary to continue their studies independently.
Final exam assessment methods
The exam is conducted individually through the presentation and discussion of the materials developed during the exercises and the discussion of the topics presented in the lectures and teaching communications. The final evaluation is based on the following criteria: 1. Clarity, completeness, and originality of the graphic works, taking into account the coherence of the interpretative process; 2. ability to intelligently use sources, fieldwork, and online research; 3. consistency and rigor of the methodological approach of analysis and project proposal. Critical thinking and clarity of presentation are also valued.
