Course Objectives


Specific training objectives and expected skills
EXPECTED LEARNING OUTCOMES
Knowledge and understanding:
- Identification of the importance of the educational role in the healthcare sector;
- Knowledge of various educational methods and their implementation;
- Knowledge of the principles and strategies of effective communication;
- Knowledge of the rudiments of nursing counseling
- Knowledge of the application methods regarding therapeutic education;

- Knowledge of the principles and methodologies to be applied in the field of narrative medicine.
Ability to apply knowledge and understanding (Applying Knowledgeand understing)
- Implementation and evaluation of educational projects;
- Implementation and evaluation of nursing counseling
- Implementation and evaluation of therapeutic education interventions in patients with chronic pathologies;
- Evaluate the user's empowerment and self-care ability;
- Implementation of tools and evaluation of narrative medicine interventions for users and health professionals
Transversal skills (Soft skills):
Making judgment
- demonstrate the ability to "diagnose" educational needs with respect to specific targets;
- Identify, implement and manage the educational intervention based on the specific need identified in relation to the target;
Communication skills
Learn the appropriate terminology and manage relational and communication dynamics in the healthcare sector.
Learning ability (Learning skill)
Planning and management of individual study in preparation for the exam; ability to integrate knowledge with the remaining teaching modules.




Course Prerequisites


Having attended the module for 70% of the scheduled hours.




Teaching Methods


The module will be carried out through interactive frontal lessons with the aid of iconographic material in Power Point files for a total of 1 CFU equal to a total of 15 hours.
Theoretical knowledge will be acquired through attendance at lessons, integrated with the study of texts and slides.




Assessment Methods


The student must demonstrate that he has acquired sufficient knowledge:
- general pedagogical principles; the importance of pedagogy and education/training in the healthcare sector relating to users and care givers/family members;
- educational objectives and methodologies broken down by target;
- learning methods broken down by target;
- effective communication methods versus ineffective and/or dysfunctional methods
- the ways in which to provide therapeutic education;
- the ways in which to implement narrative medicine/nursing.


The evaluation is expressed in thirtieths; the exam is passed if the score is equal to or higher than 18/30.

The assessment of insufficiency is not accompanied by a grade.

Honors can be granted unanimously if the final mark is thirty.

It will be necessary to repeat the exam if passing grades are not achieved in all teaching modules

Know general concepts related to general and social pedagogy;
Knowledge about the evolution of the concept of pedagogy, education, teaching and training;
General knowledge about learning and the main theories: Behaviorism, Cognitism, Constructivism, Humanistic theories;
Know the educational methodologies divided into age groups: children, adolescents (Peer Education, Serious Game), adults (Andragogy), elderly people (Geragogy);
Know the operational methods for implementing educational objectives;

Know and understand the salient aspects of communication: verbal, non-verbal, paraverbal; the axioms of communication; active listening;
General knowledge of the concept of Empowerment, Health literacy; illness, disease, sick;
Knowledge of the general principles of Therapeutic Education;
Notes on nursing counseling;
General knowledge about Narrative Medicine and application tools;
