Course Objectives


The teaching of Clinical Nursing, in compliance with the provisions of the Teaching Regulations, Article No. 3 "Specific Learning Objectives and Expected Skills," aims to provide the knowledge needed to plan and manage nursing care with respect to: care settings, personal care, mobility, respiratory function, cardiovascular function, thermoregulation, pain control, and control of healthcare-associated infections; and to conduct assessments according to reference conceptual models. EXPECTED LEARNING OUTCOMES: Knowledge and understanding: understanding the physiological and pathological processes associated with the health and illness of individuals at different stages of life; understanding the scope of nursing intervention and implementing the clinical method that guides an effective approach to care and guide decision-making; understanding the scope of nursing intervention, the clinical method that guides an effective approach to care, the operational intervention techniques, and the evidence that guides decision-making. Applying knowledge and understanding: Integrate knowledge, skills, and attitudes to provide safe, effective, evidence-based nursing care; Conduct a comprehensive and systematic assessment of individual patient care needs; Accurately analyze and interpret data collected through patient assessment; Plan nursing care delivery in collaboration with patients and the multidisciplinary team; Evaluate care progress and facilitate the development of a safe environment for patients and healthcare professionals. Making judgments: Make care decisions; Decide on the priority of interventions; Decide on care interventions and personalize them based on clinical, psychosocial, and cultural factors. Communication skills: Use appropriate communication skills with patients of all ages and their families within the care process; Use appropriate communication methods within the care team. Learning skills: Develop independent study skills. Demonstrate the ability to cultivate doubts and tolerate the uncertainties arising from study, asking appropriate and pertinent questions to resolve them; demonstrate the ability to seek out self-learning opportunities; demonstrate the ability to self-assess one's skills and outline one's development and learning needs.

Course Prerequisites


To be eligible for the exam, the student must have attended 70% of the lectures of the Integrated Course in Nursing Sciences Applied to Health and Social Education I.

Teaching Methods


The module, which is mandatory, features interactive lectures, supported by computer-based teaching materials in PowerPoint format. The instructor will adopt a teaching style based on the presentation of problems that prefigure professional situations, thus stimulating student interest in the course topics.

Assessment Methods


Assessment is based on an oral exam. Grades are out of 30; the exam is considered passed if the score is equal to or higher than eighteen thirtieths (18/30). When determining the order in which students are examined, the specific needs of working students will be taken into account. A failing grade is not accompanied by a grade. Exams are made publicly available. For the evaluation of the oral interview, the following indicators and descriptors will be taken into account: INDICATORS: relevance and correctness DESCRIPTORS: Complete: 30, In-depth: 29 - 27, Fair although with some gaps: 26 - 24, Fully sufficient: 23 - 21, Just sufficient with evident deficiencies: 20 - 18 INDICATORS: breadth and coherence DESCRIPTORS: Rigorous and documented, highlighting the ability to use the knowledge acquired and connect it in the argumentation: 30, Precise and detailed: 29 - 27, Adequate: 26 - 24, Fully sufficient: 23 - 21, Just sufficient: 20 - 18 INDICATORS: Expressive correctness, command of scientific language, communication ability DESCRIPTORS: Refined and original: 30, Clear, fluent and correct: 29 - 27, Fair: 26 - 24. Sufficient: 23-21. Not fully adequate: 20-18. To pass the exam, a grade of at least 18/30 is required. To achieve a score of 30/30 with honors, the student must demonstrate excellent knowledge of all the topics covered in the course, being able to connect them in a logical and coherent manner.
