Course Objectives


At the end of the module, in compliance with the provisions of the Teaching Regulations in article no. 3 "Specific training objectives and expected skills", the student will be able to analyze the areas, skills and activities of professionals to ensure the proactive care of citizens at a territorial level. He/she will also be able to use the necessary models and tools, within the care process, to facilitate growth, development and adaptation in the promotion, maintenance and recovery of citizens' health. EXPECTED LEARNING OUTCOMES (LEARNING OUTCOMES): Knowledge and understanding: Know the role of the nurse in planning, prevention and health education in relation to the various socio-cultural contexts; recognize the key elements of educational planning on the individual and the community; describe the essential elements, tools and methods tested for health promotion and their conditions of use; know and enhance the potential of the person and the community to promote healthy policies for improving the quality of life; interpret health education as the tool that allows groups and individuals to understand how much they can do, what it is in their power to do, on the basis of timely and usable knowledge
Ability to apply knowledge and understanding (Applying knowledge and understanding): Identify the determinants of health, risk factors and protective factors in the population; Identify both individual and collective prevention strategies and interventions aimed at promoting the safety of health workers and users; plan and conduct educational processes aimed at citizens and the community; plan and conduct educational interventions for health promotion, disease prevention and therapeutic education.
Making judgments (Making judgments): make healthcare decisions based on the priorities of users. Implement nursing care by personalizing choices based on the preferences, values ​​and priorities of the people assisted, taking into account geographical, economic, ethical and social influences; critically evaluate the outcomes of healthcare decisions, taking responsibility for them and answering for their actions, in accordance with the rules and laws, the professional profile and the code of ethics.
Communication skills: use appropriate communication skills with users of all ages and their families, within the healthcare process; use appropriate communication methods in the healthcare team. Learning skills: develop independent study skills; demonstrate the ability to seek out opportunities for self-learning; demonstrate the ability to self-assess one's skills and outline one's development and learning needs; demonstrate the ability to learn collaboratively and share knowledge within the work team; demonstrate the ability and autonomy to seek the information needed to resolve problems or uncertainties in professional practice by critically selecting secondary and primary sources of research evidence

Course Prerequisites


To be able to take the exam, the student must have attended 70% of the lectures of the Integrated Course of Nursing Sciences Applied to Health and Social Education II and must have passed the exams of the first year, first semester, as per the study plan.

Teaching Methods


Il modulo, la cui frequenza è obbligatoria, prevede lezioni frontali interattive, con ausilio di materiale didattico informatico di supporto in formato Power Point. Il docente adotterà uno stile didattico basato sulla presentazione di problemi prefiguranti le situazioni della vita professionale, tale da stimolare l’interesse degli studenti per gli argomenti del corso.

Assessment Methods


The learning assessment is based on an oral exam. The evaluation is in thirtieths, the exam is passed if the evaluation is equal to or greater than eighteen thirtieths (18/30). In determining the order in which students must be examined, the specific needs of working students will be taken into particular account. The evaluation of insufficiency is not accompanied by a grade. The advertising of the exam tests is ensured. For the evaluation of the oral interview, the following indicators and descriptors will be taken into account: INDICATORS: relevance and correctness DESCRIPTORS: Complete: 30, In-depth: 29 - 27, Fair although with some gaps: 26 - 24, Fully sufficient: 23 - 21, Just sufficient with evident deficiencies: 20 - 18 INDICATORS: breadth and coherence DESCRIPTORS: Rigorous and documented, highlighting the ability to use the knowledge acquired and connect it in the argument: 30, Precise and detailed: 29 - 27, Adequate: 26 - 24, Fully sufficient: 23 - 21, Just sufficient: 20 - 18 INDICATORS: Expressive correctness, use of scientific language, communication skills DESCRIPTORS: Refined and original: 30, Clear, fluent and correct: 29 -27, Fair: 26 - 24, Sufficient: 23 - 21, Not fully adequate: 20 -18. To pass the exam, a grade of at least 18/30 is required. To obtain a grade of 30/30 with honors, the student must demonstrate that he or she has acquired excellent knowledge of all the topics covered during the course, being able to connect them in a logical and coherent way

Analyze nursing skills in public health, the levels of integration in models of proactive care of citizens at the territorial level, in reference to the health needs of the population. Describe the theoretical bases of health promotion, prevention and individual and collective protection, with particular reference to the concepts of primary and secondary prevention.
