Syllabus

Course Objectives

To describe, in essential, complete, and correct terms the structural organization of the human body in physiological conditions and the immediate relationships of anatomical structures.

Course Prerequisites

Basic elements of biology and statistics.
Knowledge of physics, chemistry, and medical biochemistry.
Adequate knowledge of cytology and biology.

Teaching Methods

The course of Human Anatomy is organized in lectures (30 hours). Power point presentations and anatomical models are used.

Assessment Methods

The exam consists of a written exam with 2 open-ended questions covering all the treated topics and 30 multiple-choice questions regarding the locomotor system and in particular the muscles. Each question has 4 answers of which only one is correct. Each correct answer is worth 1 point. Incorrect or unsuccessful answers are worth 0 points. The duration of the exam is 90 minutes. To pass the exam the candidate must acquire a minimum score of 18 out of 30. If the test is insufficient (score is less than 18) the test must be repeated. The recording of the final grade results from the weighted average of the marks obtained in the exams related of the courses.
