The course aims to lead the student to the recognition of the various organic compounds starting based on the structure formula and on the functional group, knowing the reaction mechanisms and their biological importance. To know the general properties of carbohydrates, lipids, proteins and nucleic acids, regard to the chemical structure and biological function relationship.
Course Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of the mathematical and physical instruments and formalism needed to properly deal with Chemistry and Biochemistry problems.
Teaching Methods
Lectures in classroom, except for the return to distance learning on the Teams platform for provisions related to the spread of the SARS-CoV2 virus. The contents of the course will be illustrated with an IT support (PowerPoint file). At each lesson and / or topic of the program, the slides presented in classroom will be made available at the end in a pdf format and structured to encourage interaction with students.
