Course Objectives

Aim of this course is to give students the tools necessary for understanding the phenomena related to functions in one variable and linear unctions in several variables, linear algebra included. Learning outcomes Knowledge and understanding - Master the mathematical tools necessary to understand economic models and business dynamics Applying knowledge and understanding - Choose a mathematical model to solve an economic problem - Use the above mathematical model to solve the problem - Reinterpret the solution found in economic terms

Course Prerequisites

The student should know algebraic expressions and should be able to solve equations and inequalities of first and second degrees.

Assessment Methods

Written exam, including questions both theoretical and applied. The approximate length of the test is 1 hour and 45 minutes. The questions are aimed at ascertaining the logical-deductive reasoning and calculation skills developed by the student. In itinere tests are foreseen in the number of 2.

In this course, we will learn the mathematical language and use it to study the dependencies between numerical variables using function graphs. We will then apply this knowledge to economics.
