Course Objectives

TRAINING OBJECTIVES AND EXPECTED LEARNING RESULTS: According to the Dublin descriptors, the educational objectives are aimed to provide the student with the concepts and methods necessary to recognize and elaborate the fundamental ideas of physics (Mechanics, Fluid Dynamics, thermology and Thermodynamics) and become able to apply these concepts and methods in the field of Motor and Sport Activity Sciences (knowledge and understanding, applying knowledge and understanding). At the end of the course the student will have to demonstrate to have learned the basic notions and methods of physics, to have reached the knowledge and skills to understand a problem of general physics so to be able to give an independent judgement on problems physics, to be able to communicate the own opinions to people with the same competences and also to people with no specific competences, and to be able to manipulate these ideas and methods in a manner appropriate to the scientific training and professional needs of a graduate in Sports and Fitness Activities (communication skills).

Course Prerequisites

A basic knowledge of Algebra, Geometry and Differential Calculus.

Teaching Methods

Classroom lessons.

Assessment Methods

Multiple choice written test with questions having multiple possible answers exclusively on the theoretical program performed in class.
Fifteen questions will be presented on a screen. For each question 4 possible answers will also be presented, of which only one is correct.
Each correct answer is assigned a score of 2, each wrong or not given answer is not considered.

The test is passed if a total score greater or equal to 18 is obtained. The total duration of the test is about one hour.
