Syllabus

Course Objectives

In accordance with the Dublin descriptors, the educational objectives of the course are intended to provide students with the acquisition of basic anatomical knowledge to understand the general organization of the human body in healthy conditions with particular attention to the systems involved in motor activities. ; the acquisition of knowledge of the mechanisms that allow the apparatuses to perform their specific functions within the human organism; the identification of the components of the various systems and the definition of their physical and functional relationships; the acquisition of knowledge of the main age-related skeletal changes (child, adult, elderly) [knowledge and understanding]. The achievement of the general objective allows the student to make full use of the subsequent courses that require morphological knowledge and provides the graduate with a cultural substrate useful for practicing the profession, for interacting with other professionals and for exploiting the applicative aspects of the discipline in the fields of education, rehabilitation, sports and free time [applied knowledge and understanding]. At the end of the course, the student will have solid morphological knowledge useful to face the disciplines of the following years and to create a cultural substrate for the correct exercise of the profession. The development of independent judgment and analysis will be supported thanks to the discussion in the classroom of practical examples. Therefore, the expected learning outcomes foresee that at the end of the course the student will have to possess the fundamental concepts to discuss the correlations between the structures of the human body and their functions, will be able to apply anatomical knowledge and understand the technical aspects, didactic and biomedical of movement. In addition, he will have acquired interpersonal and expressive skills with regard to basic anatomical terminology and the skills necessary for achieving the objectives and for orientation towards the career opportunities provided by the degree course [communication skills].

Course Prerequisites

Teaching Methods

Frontal lessons carried out with the aid of electronic devices and a multimedia classroom equipped with a virtual dissection table.
In the event of health emergency, the lessons will be held on a digital platform indicated by the University (Teams or similar).

Assessment Methods

The exam is designed to assess students' knowledge about the structural organization of the human body and the structure-function relationships, with particular focus to the systems involved in motor activities.

Exam method: 3 written partial in-progress tests (optional) with multiple choice answers consisting of 10 questions (4 possible answers, only one correct) whose grade is expressed in thirtieths. Each partial will focus on the part of the program covered up to the time of the test.
For students who do not achieve a passing grade (18/30) in all 3 partial tests, or for students who do not wish to take the partial tests, the full exam includes a written test with multiple choice answers consisting of 31 questions. The final grade will be expressed in thirtieths.
In case of health issues, the exam will be held according to the methods and platform indicated by the University (Teams or similar).

Evaluation for partial tests: 3 points for each correct answer; 0 points for incorrect answers 0 not given. Time available: 10 min
Evaluation for the complete exam: 1 point for each correct answer; 0 points for incorrect answers 0 not given. Time available: 30 min

The exam modalities are identical for attending and non-attending students.
