Course Objectives

Acquisition of elementary knowledge of organic chemistry, with particular attention to the aspects of practical interest of the various categories of compounds

Course Prerequisites

Absence of initial training debts. In the presence of such debts, they will be considered to be cleared in case of positive results at examination.

Structure of organic molecules; stereochemistry of alkanes, alkenes, alkynes, synthesis and reactivity thereof. Structure, synthesis and reactions of alcohols, ethers, epoxides, sulfides, aromatic compounds, amines, carbonyl compounds, carboxylic acids and derivatives. Overview on carbohydrates, nucleic acids, proteins.
