Course Objectives


The student, in accordance and coherence with the training objectives ofthe Courseof a Master's Degree, will have to acquire specific knowledge onliterature and dramaturgy, scientifically supported, in different positions,as well as congruousObiettivi Agenda 2030per lo svilupposostenibile(ATTENZIONE:posizionarsi su questocampo per poterselezionare gliobiettivi dalla lista)Questo insegnamento concorre alla realizzazione degli obiettivi ONUdell'Agenda 2030 per lo Sviluppo SostenibileObiettivi per lo sviluppo sostenibileCodice Descrizione4 Istruzione di qualità5 Uguaglianza di genere8 Lavoro dignitoso e crescita economica10 Ridurre le disuguaglianze16 Pace, giustizia e istituzioni fortiskills in understanding and analyzing literary texts eproposed dramaturgy.Among the knowledge it is appropriate that the student, at the end of thelessons,you demonstrate mastery in understanding the language and structurerelating to the dramaturgical text as well as style and techniquesspecifically connected to reference works and contemporary literary textsthematically related; who is informed about the most relevant positionscriticism applied to the exegesis of the author's text and on the sourcesthey havecontribution to its construction, as well as on the "history ofmentality" contextual to the historical period under analysis.Among the skills it is desirable that the student consolidates an attitudeautonomous in the exegesis and judgment of the literary anddramaturgical text;which therefore orients itself in the historical and critical panorama,arriving at maturitya personal attitude in the choice and consequently in the critical readingof thematically related texts.Furthermore, adequate ability must be linked to independent judgmentcommunication that allows the student to be persuasive, a lotin oral exposition, as well as in the production of a written essay:the latter in fact constitutes the specific tool for disseminationcritical thinking at any level.The exercise on the text represents the tool for refinementof the greatest of the skills that the Master's Degree Course aims toachieveto confer: the consolidation of argumentative skills and of the spiritcritical and the autonomy of judgment of the individual in an absolutesense, whoseacquisition makes the degree course student competitivewithin the different professional opportunities connected to it.

Course Prerequisites


Good knowledge of the history of Italian literature and the history oftheater.

Teaching Methods


Lectures; workshops. Due to the relevance of the course within the MAprogramme, it may include seminars that will be led by renowninternational scholars.

Assessment Methods


Oral exam. Students are expected to present the literary texts from thereading list with reference to the critical discussion offered during thelessons and seminars.Marks range from 18 to 30. Top marks will be given to students whoachieve all of the learning objectives of the course.The final assessment consists of an oral exam on the entire syllabus. Theaim is to assess the students’ skills and in particular their understandingof the issues discussed during the course, their knowledge of thebibliography in the reading list, the correct command of the specificlanguage as well as of critical and methodological abilities. The gradingscale ranges from 1 to 30 with honours (cum laude): 1-17 fail, 18-21sufficient, 22-24 fair, 25-27 good, 28-29 very good, 30-30 with honours(cum laude) excellent.
