Course Objectives

Students are expected to manage the specialized language of the discipline and to acquire the methodological bases of basic and applied research in social psychology. Moreover, they should be able to recognize the main motivational and cognitive processes underlying intergroup relations.

Course Prerequisites

No prerequisites are required.

Teaching Methods

Lessons will be divided into theoretical frontal lectures and practical exercises aimed at consolidating the presented topics. Also planned are small- and large-group discussions and work-groups, evaluations of national and international projects, and viewings of documentary.

Assessment Methods

The exam is written (28 multiple choice questions - score 0 if the answer is wrong and 1 if correct - and 1 open - score from -1 if the answer is wrong to +3 depending on the quality of the content). During the course the teacher will propose exercises in which it is possible to participate (in this case, if it is not possible to attend, students are asked to contact the teacher for information on this).

(should be thoroughly studied, excluding Chapters 4, 8, and 9)

During the course, the following will be explained: we will discuss the main theoretical approaches, problems, concepts and methods of social psychology.
