Abstract:
The article analyzes the notion of thing in Heidegger’s Being and Time. Although
Heidegger will deepen its potential only from the mid-30s, even making it a pivotal
concept of his later thought, that notion plays an important role already in the discourse
of fundamental ontology. Far from being a limit, the phenomenological ambivalence of
the thing is a crucial resource, which makes it a truly rich and articulated ‘operator’ in
Being and Time.
