In different contexts and nations,
like Brazil and Italy, numerous episodes of
the ban and discriminatory practices against
members of this gypsy ethnic group have been
verified, strengthening the conflict between the
Gypsy and the non-Gypsy worlds. Understand
the dynamics of such representational field is
considered as an important issue to be exploited
to promote public policies and intervention
programs. It is expected that the results
generated will contribute to assist in debunking
negative stereotypes widely spread at the
hegemonic social thought, core of prejudice and
social discrimination against this ethnic group.
