Political and Economic Relations between Italy and the Soviet Union. 1924-1939

The article examines some aspects of the history of the creation of relations between Soviet Russia and fascist Italy in the inter-war years, from February 1924, when the Italian government recognized the Soviet state, until the second half of the 1930s. Italian historiography, devoted to the topic, has so far dealt with the issue in separate studies, paying attention either to economic issues or diplomatic ones. The topic of the relationship between the Soviet Union and Italy also helps to understand what were the common interests of the two powers on the political plane and what view they shared in relation to the democratic powers. Special attention will be paid to those political or military leaders who helped the fascist regime to create good relations and friendly contacts with Soviet Russia.
