Not just questione of decorum. Places and monuments of post-war reconstruction in Campania

The contribution brings attention to the wide gap that occurs between the reconstruction of
the cities and the restoration of the monuments after World War II. The Campania, one of
the regions most affected by War, is revealed, from this point of view, a research laboratory
and verification exemplary. Here, the great ferment of initiatives that accompanies the start
of the reconstruction of the destroyed cities does not invest the restoration, which remains
stubbornly anchored to philological principles established before the war, however
subjected, in operational phase, to derogations and adjustments designed and reveal all of
its limitations and contradictions.
