Current status of nanotheranostics in precision medicine

Abstract:
Nanotheranostics, the integration of nanotechnology with personalized medicine, has the potential to revolutionize health care by precisely targeting and effectively treating disorders. The integration of diagnostic and therapeutic capabilities within a single nanoplatform has immense promise for early sickness diagnosis, precise medicine administration, and effective treatment monitoring. Multiple nanotheranostic platforms, such as magnetic nanoparticles, quantum dots, and gold nanostructures, have shown their efficiency in treating many diseases, including cancer, via numerous clinical and preclinical investigations. These nanoplatforms enhance therapeutic results while decreasing unpleasant side effects; they make possible customized drug delivery, less intrusive therapies, and a variety of imaging modalities. A lot of effort has gone into this. However, there are still many problems that need fixing, such as concerns about the negative effects in the future, the need to boost manufacturing capacity, and bureaucratic red tape. Research is now focusing on three primary areas: theranostic efficacy, targeted accuracy, and advancements in biocompatible materials. Theranostic effectiveness, targeted precision, and biocompatible material progress are the three main topics of ongoing study. The chapter continues by talking about how machine learning and AI might be used to improve the development of nanotheranostics and personalized treatment programs. Nanotheranostics has the potential to have a big impact on the future of precision medicine by helping doctors provide patients with individualized treatment plans that consider their unique genetic makeup and illness symptoms. Nanotheranostics, proteomics, and genomic integration are predicted to bring about a fresh age of tailored therapy. This all-inclusive review sheds light on where nanotheranostics stands, how it has affected precision medicine, and the obstacles that need to be overcome before it can be fully integrated into medical applications chapter will specifically address the current state of nanotheranostics in the realm of precision medicine.
