Abstract:
The Rorschach Test, a personality assessment instrument, is notoriously challenging to master and use accurately due to the complexities of managing technical procedures and interpersonal dynamics. Serious games are a valuable opportunity to enhance training through flexibility, interactivity, and engagement. This study provides a preliminary evaluation of an avatar-based serious game for teaching the Rorschach Test administration process. The software features separate interfaces for students and teachers. Ten experts completed a survey on their Rorschach experience and participated in two sessions with the game, first as students and then as teachers. After the first session, they assessed the avatar’s usability and their experience, and after the second session, they evaluated the software’s usability, usefulness, and representativeness. Results showed that both interfaces were rated positively for usability, and experts reported high efficacy in administering the Rorschach Test. The serious game was considered an accurate simulation and a valuable training tool. These preliminary findings support its potential as an effective resource for Rorschach Test training, highlighting areas for improvement for psychologists’ training.
