Dike in uno spazio chiuso. L’Europa antica tra antropologia e antropofagia: Platone, Tucidide, Aristofane

Articolo
Data di Pubblicazione:
2016
Abstract:
Behind the Homeric argument of good shepherd used to rappresent royality, it is possibile to find for subjects a relation with food. It is the anthropophagy metaphor that in Plato’s Repubblic is hold by Trasimacus like “the advantage of stronger” in spite to Dike: he had in mind the imperialistic Athenian policy inaugurated by Pericles that destroyed Melo and struggled Megara, as testified by Thucidides and rappresented by Aristophanes. In adition to the mythic king shepherd Poliphemus, who knows the right nomos, also Odysseus pretends to pratise cannibalism to defense own property; it is enough that it happens in a closed and private space. Now, the problem that remains is: can Europe be considered a closed space?
