Syllabus

Course Objectives


Acquire theoretical and practical knowledge of ergonomics applied to occupational therapy. Assess risks, functional abilities and environmental factors. Apply standardized tools and tests for upper limb assessment. Promote prevention, safety and inclusion in work environments. Understand rehabilitation strategies and return-to-work programs.

Course Prerequisites


Basic knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and biomechanics. Fundamentals of occupational therapy and rehabilitation. General notions of work psychology.

Teaching Methods


Lectures with multimedia support. Case study discussions. Practical exercises with assessment tools. Analysis of regulations and technical documents.

Assessment Methods


Written exam with 20 multiple-choice questions and an open question. Results are on a 30-point scale.

Contents


Principles of ergonomics: definitions, historical evolution, systemic approach. Main domains (physical, cognitive, organizational). Occupational safety legislation (Italian Legislative Decree 81/2008). Functional assessment tools (ROM, strength, sensitivity, dexterity, pain, validated questionnaires). Environmental ergonomics (lighting, noise, microclimate). Work organization and risk prevention. Rehabilitation and return-to-work strategies (work conditioning, work hardening, vocational rehabilitation).
