LT278N - MODERN AND CONTEMPORARY ITALIAN LITERATURE

The course aims to provide students with an in-depth knowledge of Luigi Pirandello's work within the coordinates of contemporary Italian literature, in accordance with the educational objectives of the Course of Study in Philology, Linguistics and Literary Traditions.
At the end of the course, the student will have learned to recognize the main coordinates of literary modernity in the filigree of Pirandello's texts.
The student must be able to analyze the texts and contextualize works, forms, genres, poetics within the literary field in which Pirandello moved between the end of the nineteenth century and 1936, the year of his death.
The student must develop sufficient autonomy of judgment and the ability to argue it, at the same time demonstrating that he knows how to move in the field of critical bibliography.
In the evaluation of the learning results, the clarity of exposition, the coherence and solidity of the argumentation, the possession of an advanced sectoral vocabulary will also be taken into account.
At the end of the course, the student should have developed the ability to place Luigi Pirandello's work within his time and within the broader relationships of history, culture, and art.
