Syllabus

Course Objectives


(i) To acquire knowledge and tools to understand the firm’s competitive environment;(ii) To acquire knowledge and tools to understand how to design and implement a business strategies;(iii) To acquire knowledge and tools to understand the main managerial functions.

Teaching Methods


Traditional lectures and seminars by managers and entrepreneurs.

Assessment Methods


Written exam and oral examDuring the course, the instructor will systematically assess the class's learning level, adjusting the pace of the course, teaching methods, and any opportunities for further reflection on certain chapters that prove more difficult to understand than others.Regarding the exam, attending students will take an oral exam at the end of the course to assess their level of preparation and the extent to which the material has been internalized over the months. Non-attending students will not be required to take a pre-exam exam.The exam aims to:- assess knowledge of people management tools in complex organizations, particularly in businesses.
- be able to identify human resources management strategies, policies, and tools used by management and the Human Resources function to support organizational development.- be able to master the "practices" (selection, development and training, compensation, etc.).- be able to use tools that utilize hard and soft variables, regulating their functioning to influence the determinants of people's behavior within organizations, and understand the main tools available to companies to measure and enhance their value through the description of examples taken from the current business context.
The assessment method aims to assess the student's level of knowledge of the topics outlined in the program and to verify that the student has acquired knowledge of the discipline, the ability to interpret regulatory and case law data, and the ability to present clearly and reasoned ideas.The oral exam consists of a detailed interview.

The course addresses issues concerning business strategies and its complete strategic activity through the study of all possible alternative scenarios, analytical tools and constitutive andevolution of the main industrial sectors. The course also aims to analyze themain management functions but a special focus will be on Financial strategies
