Syllabus

Course Objectives


The course aims to provide students with a basic knowledge of contemporary Italian poetry, between the early twentieth century and the 2000s, in accordance with the educational objectives of the Course of Study in Philology, Linguistics and Literary Traditions.
At the end of the course, the student will have learned to orient themselves among the main voices of contemporary Italian poetry and to place them within the lines of trends that have revolutionized the ways of poetry between the twentieth century and the 2000s.
The student must be able to analyze the texts and contextualize works, forms, genres and authorial or movement poetics.
They must develop sufficient autonomy of judgment and the ability to argue it, at the same time demonstrating that they know how to move in the field of critical bibliography.
In the evaluation of the learning results, the clarity of exposition, the coherence and solidity of the argumentation, the possession of an advanced sectoral vocabulary will also be taken into account.
At the end of the course, the student should have developed an advanced ability to grasp the aesthetic specificities of contemporary poetry, also considering its dialogue with the image, with art, with the corporeal, performative and medial dimension.

Course Prerequisites


Good knowledge of the contemporary historical-literary context.

Teaching Methods


Frontal and interactive lessons, alternating historical-critical overviews and moments of reading, analysis, and commentary of the texts.

Assessment Methods


The exam will take the form of an interview. It aims at ascertaining the achievement of the course objectives. The subject of the assessment will be both the topics covered in class and the assigned bibliography. The grade is expressed in thirtieths and will also consider the quality of the oral expression, the critical skills and the methodological skills acquired by the student.
