Course Objectives


The course aims to provide students with a basic knowledge of the two main varieties of spoken Arabic, Egyptian and Levantine, enabling them to communicate in simple, everyday situations.

Course Prerequisites


Basic knowledge of Standard Arabic.

Teaching Methods


Lectures, practical exercises, listening and comprehension activities, use of authentic materials, and guided oral production activities.

Assessment Methods


Written and oral assessment. The final grade, on a 30-point scale, is based on the average of the scores obtained in the two components.
