Course Objectives

EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES The course will contribute to the general objectives of the degree course aiming at forming professionals able to understand and analyse the competitive dynamics of the digital markets. In particular, the course aims at developing the student attitude toward research and the use of research techniques in the field of antitrust and regulation in digital markets LEARNING OUTCOMES 1) Knowledge and understanding. At the end of the course the students will have the theoretical and cognitive instruments to: - improve their research skills; - understand the potential, and the elective areas of application of the main economic research techniques in the field of antitrust and regulation of digital markets; - understand, interpret and summarize (also in written form) reference literature on the topics agreed with the professor. 2) Applying knowledge and understanding. At the end of the course, students will be able to: - search, analyse and critically select reference literature relative to the topics agreed with the professor - identify research topics and develop work plans - apply the acquired knowledge in simplified context and problems, suggest and discuss research strategies 3) Communication skills. At the end of the course, students will have acquired the following communication skills: - describe research results also through slide presentations; - critically discuss the obtained results in group contexts.

Course Prerequisites

It is preferable to have taken the exam of Economics of Digital Markets.

Teaching Methods

The teacher supports students in learning the defined topics through meetings during which she provides explanations on request, clarifies the students' doubts and assesses the progress of their work.

Assessment Methods

Discussion of the individual work done by the students, based on written reports and/or slide presentations.

Texts

Specific materials suggested by the professor and/or agreed with the student, which are relevant for elaborating individual topics.

Contents

The course is aimed at supporting students in the elaboration of research topics related to the economics of antitrust and regulation in digital markets, and to guide them in the preparation of slide presentations and written texts.
