Course Objectives


Describe basic nursing skill levels
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Specific training objectives and expected skills:
Provide the knowledge to plan and manage assistance for a person with respect to:
- Personal care
- Respiratory function
- Cardiovascular function
Guide the student to conduct an assessment according to reference conceptual models
Recognize the alterations and the main problems and identify the interventions aimed at preventing, reducing and compensating the problems
EXPECTED LEARNING OUTCOMES
Knowledge and understanding
- understand the physiological and pathological processes connected to the state of health and disease of people at different ages of life
- Understand the field of nursing intervention and implement the clinical method that guides an effective approach to care and guides decision making
- Understand the fields of intervention of nursing, the clinical method that guides an effective approach to care, the operational intervention techniques and the evidence that guides decision-making
Applying knowledge and understanding
- Integrate nursing knowledge, skills and attitudes to deliver safe, effective, evidence-based nursing care
- conduct a complete and systematic assessment of the individual's care needs
- accurately analyze and interpret the data collected through assessment of the patient
- plan the provision of nursing care in collaboration with users and the multidisciplinary team
- evaluate the progress of treatments and facilitate the development of a safe environment for the patient and health professionals

- decide on care interventions and personalize them based on clinical, psychosocial and cultural variables

Course Prerequisites


To be able to take the exam, the student must have attended 70% of the lectures of the Integrated Course of Nursing Sciences Applied to Health and Social Education I

Teaching Methods


The module, whose attendance is compulsory, includes frontal lessons. The teacher will adopt a teaching style based on the presentation of problems prefiguring professional life situations, such as to stimulate students' interest in the course topics and encourage the application of the knowledge learned in real clinical contexts

Assessment Methods


Type of exam: Oral
Learning assessment methods:
The evaluation is in thirtieths; the exam is passed if the evaluation is equal to or greater than eighteen thirtieths (18/30). In determining the order in which students must be examined, the specific needs of working students will be considered. The evaluation of insufficiency is not accompanied by a grade. The publicity of the exam tests is ensured. For the evaluation of the oral interview, the following indicators and descriptors will be taken into account. INDICATORS: relevance and correctness DESCRIPTORS: Complete: 30, In-depth: 29 - 27, Fair although with some gaps: 26 - 24, Fully sufficient: 23 - 21, Just sufficient with evident deficiencies: 20 - 18 INDICATORS: breadth and coherence DESCRIPTORS: Rigorous and documented, highlighting the ability to use the knowledge acquired and connect it in the argumentation: 30, Precise and detailed: 29 - 27, Adequate: 26 - 24, Fully sufficient: 23 - 21, Just sufficient: 20 - 18 INDICATORS: Expressive correctness, use of scientific language, communication skills DESCRIPTORS: Refined and original: 30, Clear, fluent and correct: 29 -27, Fair: 26 - 24, Sufficient: 23 - 21, Not fully adequate: 20 -18. To pass the exam, a grade of at least 18/30 is required. To obtain a grade of 30/30 with honors, the student must demonstrate that he or she has acquired excellent knowledge of all the topics covered during the course, being able to connect them in a logical and coherent way.
