EXPECTED LEARNING OUTCOMES Knowledge and Understanding

At the end of the course, the student must demonstrate knowledge of:

- the basics of particle mechanics and extended bodies

- the basics of electrostatics and electrodynamics

Making Judgements

At the end of the course, the student should be able to:

- using the concepts learned during the course, identify and critically evaluate physical phenomena encountered in other courses and during the internship.

Communication Skills

At the end of the course, the student should be able to:

- use the technical language of Applied Physics

Course Prerequisites

The proposed program will also allow students without prior disciplinary knowledge to achieve the indicated educational objectives. There are no prerequisites, but a basic understanding of mathematics found in all high school curricula is recommended.

Assessment Methods

The exam will be oral, and the topics covered will reflect those covered in class and included in the syllabus. Specifically, both topics related to basic principles and those related to the application of these principles to the investigative techniques specific to the specific program will be examined. The exam format and grading will be indicated by the instructor at the beginning of class. Grading will be based on the student's knowledge of the topics covered in the exam questions and the student's logical-argumentative skills. The evaluation will also take into account the quality of the presentation, with particular reference to the student's proficiency in using specialized vocabulary.
The exam result is expressed in thirtieths according to an increasing scale based on the demonstration of knowledge, appropriateness of language, and the logic and coherence of the presentation:

- sufficient but incomplete basic knowledge: score 18-22 thirtieths;

- fair knowledge and clarity of presentation: score 23-25 thirtieths;

- good knowledge and ability to illustrate the topics with appropriate language and mastery of the subject matter: score 26-28 thirtieths;

- excellent knowledge of the topics and excellent presentation skills, critical reasoning: score 28-30 thirtieths.

- honors are awarded to students who demonstrate particularly in-depth knowledge, exceptional presentation skills, and critical reasoning.
