Contents

The course aims to present children's and young adult literature as an open and pluralistic universe of communication, composed of multiple genres and subgenres, verbal and visual narrative forms, and cross-pollination between different languages and media. Starting from the theoretical, aesthetic and thematic revolution of the 1960s and 1970s, contemporary forms of writing for children and adolescents will be analysed, with particular attention to educational and teaching practices for book mediation and the promotion of reading in school and non-school contexts. Particular attention will be paid to national and international projects and contexts involving children's literature with the aim of promoting literacy, inclusion and democratic participation.
