Course Objectives


Knowledge and Understanding:- Understand psychological processes underpinning learning;- Know the seven principles of learning science and their instructional implications;- Recognize the potential of AI for personalized learning and assessment.
Applied Skills:- Analyse and design effective learning environments;- Apply theoretical principles to create innovative teaching activities;- Integrate AI tools to support learning and metacognition.
Transversal Competencies:- Exercise critical judgement in educational strategy selection;- Communicate effectively in written and oral formats;- Engage in reflective and cooperative learning.

Course Prerequisites


No specific prerequisites required, but basic knowledge of developmental psychology and pedagogy is recommended.

Teaching Methods


Interactive lectures, case study analysis, project-based workshops, discussion of scientific literature, use of the e-learning platform.

Assessment Methods


The exam consists of two parts:• The first involves an oral interview on the first part of the program and the discussion of a thesis related to the implementation of one of the principles of the first part of the program.• The second involves an oral interview on the second part of the program and the discussion of a thesis related to the implementation of one of the principles of the second part of the program.• The two project thesis, each centered on one of the seven principles, will focus on the use of AI-based tools to implement them in educational contexts. Each thesis will be 4–5 pages long and must include concrete examples of how a specific principle can be implemented in the teaching of specific contents using AI-based tools. The thesis must be submitted at least one week before the oral exam.For students attending (at least 70% of the lessons), two intermediate tests are scheduled, one for each part of the course.Final evaluation: arithmetic mean of the grades expressed in thirtieths of the two parts (oral + essay), with quality criteria defined at the beginning of the course.

The course explores the psychological foundations of human learning with a focus on educational contexts, teacher training, and AI applications in teaching. It is divided into two parts:
