Contents

The course delves into the construct of the theory of mind, a component of social cognition, offering both a theoretical framework and presenting tools useful for assessment and intervention. Specifically, along with illustrating the main theoretical models, the course examines the development of this ability across the lifespan, from childhood to old age, highlighting its precursors and correlates. Moreover, the course presents the assessment tools available in the literature, distinguishing them based on their use at different life stages, purpose (clinical or research), and components explored. Finally, the course introduces some intervention programs for the enhancement/rehabilitation of the theory of mind.
