Participation in the Team in AF (Thrombosis ExchAnge prograM): European research group on atrial fibrillation
Within this group, collaboration included overall analyses and multiple sub-analyses of the European atrial fibrillation registries PREFER in AF and PREFER in AF - PROLONGATION

Collaboration with the Research Group of Malmö Lund University, Malmö, Sweden
Within this collaboration, the following research lines were developed:
• predictors of atrial fibrillation onset and cardiovascular risk

PRINCIPAL INVESTIGATOR OF THE FOLLOWING INTERNATIONAL MULTICENTER CLINICAL TRIALS

• LIBREXIA-ACS: A Phase 3, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, event-driven study to demonstrate the efficacy and safety of Milvexian, an oral Factor XIa inhibitor, after a recent acute coronary syndrome. Principal Investigator of the Chieti Center (ongoing study).
• OCEANIC-AF: A multicenter, international, randomized, active comparator-controlled, double-blind, double-dummy, parallel-group, 2-arm, Phase 3 study comparing the efficacy and safety of the oral FXIa inhibitor Asundexian versus Apixaban for stroke prevention in patients with atrial fibrillation. Principal Investigator of the Chieti Center (completed in 2024).
• PERSEO: PERcutaneouS coronary intErventions in patients treated with oral anticoagulant therapy: the PERSEO Registry. Principal Investigator of the Chieti Center (completed in 2024).
• ETNA-AF: Edoxaban Treatment in Routine Clinical Practice for Patients With Non-Valvular Atrial Fibrillation. Principal Investigator of the Chieti Center (September 1, 2018 – February 2023).
• Italian multicenter study EDO-SP-01-2015: A pilot study on Edoxaban for the resolution of left atrial thrombosis in patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation. Principal Investigator of the Chieti Center (September 1, 2018 – December 2021).
• GLORIA-AF: Global Registry on Long-Term Oral Antithrombotic Treatment in Patients with Atrial Fibrillation. Principal Investigator of the Chieti Center (September 1, 2018 – February 2020).
