DE BELLIS MARIA LAURA

Maria Laura De Bellis, PhD, is an Associate Professor of Solids and Structural Mechanics. She has held visiting scholar positions at CIMNE (Barcelona) and the University of California, Berkeley. She obtained a postgraduate Master's degree in Numerical Methods for Engineering from UPC (Spain). After postdoctoral fellowships at Sapienza University of Rome and Politecnico di Milano, she was appointed Assistant Professor at the University of Salento and later moved to a tenure-track position at the University of Chieti-Pescara. She is a recipient of the Alexander von Humboldt Fellowship at the Institute of Continuum Mechanics (IKM), Leibniz Universität Hannover and obtained the Italian National Scientific Qualification for Full Professor in 2020. She is the author of more than 90 scientific publications, including journal papers, book chapters, and conference proceedings. She has served as organizer of international conferences and minisymposia, guest editor of two special issues in international journals, and Principal Investigator of competitive research projects. Since November 2023, she has been Chair of the Bachelor's Degree Program in Construction Engineering (L-23).
