Overview

Date/time interval

Primo Semestre (01/10/2025 - 31/01/2026)

Syllabus

Course Objectives

Providing knowledge and tools needed by those who want to approach library work, encouraging the development of specific professional skills especially in the digital and digitisation field.

Course Prerequisites

Basic IT skills and essential knowledge of digital humanities are required as per the syllabus of the corresponding examination in the undergraduate degree.

Teaching Methods

Lectures with the aid of computer and multimedia/internet resources. Students will be invited to submit their original works or theoretical insights on course topics of their choice for discussion in the class. Some classes will have a hands-on approach; there will also a few library visits for a more in-depth field study of the course content; external speakers may be invited for specific classes and seminars.

Assessment Methods

An oral exam will ascertain knowledge and understanding of the topics presented in the classes and covered by the textbooks indicated for preparation. The test is intended to verify the knowledge and critical ability to elaborate the theoretical-practical contents of the discipline. The final assessment will also take into consideration the clarity and coherence of the exposition and the level of mastery in the use of technical language.

Exams take place in the professor’s room, first floor, third aisle, in DiLASS building.
