Innovation, digitalisation and sustainability for the diffused economy in Central Italy - VITALITY
Progetto The general purpose of the Ecosystem promoted by the 9 Universities of the three Regions of central Italy is the development and transfer of innovation to make regional production systems more competitive, thus improving sustainability, and to improve the quality of life in urban systems, rural areas, and both living and working environments. The three regions are characterized by an articulated production system both in terms of operational areas and in terms of size, with the presence of some large nationally renowned companies, but with the dominance presence being made up of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The main tools of the proposed innovation will be enabling technologies that are capable of acting transversally for the transformation of production and organizational systems and for production diversification. Such enabling technologies will include digital technologies for the acquisition and processing of data for the provision of services for development of sustainable production processes; technologies of nanomaterials and biocompatible materials, biotechnologies and health sciences, human sciences; and digital solutions for the implementation of production processes and the provision of services.
The activities (research, training, technology transfer and creation of start-ups/spin-offs and collaboration with SMEs) will be carried out by the 10 Spokes, with the participation of affiliate companies located in the regional territories and some research centres outside of the respective region
